Homemade Laundry Soap

I made my own Laundry soap today and I used (3) 5 gallon buckets to store it all in. Here is the recipe that I found to use:

1 14.7 oz bar Zote Soap or Fels-Naptha, grated
8 cups simmering water
When soap is completely melted add:
2 cups 20 Mule Team Borax
2 cups Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
3/4 to 1 cup Baking Soda
1 cup Oxyclean (I use Awesome brand)
4 tsp lemon extract or ess. oil
3 tsp butter extract or ess oil
(any fav scents or extracts work!)
Five gallon bucket plus enough hot water to fill bucket
large stir stick (free at most hardware stores)
10- 1 gallon jugs filled with 2 quarts of water (1/2 way full)

Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

I was in Walmart the other day and ran across the blue mason jars in the craft section. I thought that would be cute for the soap jar for my kids bathroom. So I picked one up yesterday and came home and put it all together. Here is a great tutorial if you need one.

Kitchen Table makeover

I made over my table this past week. I wanted to brighten up my dinning room area. I love how the table turned out. 

The color I used on the chairs were from Krylon in the color celery. It was on sale for $1.00 a can and didn't realize it until the cashier rang it up. WOOT WOOT! I love finding things on sale and it being a surprise.

bar stool makeover

I repainted my bar stools this past week and wanted to bring some color to my home and I love the color and how it brightens up the kitchen bar.

The color I used was from Krylon bright idea yellow. 

I redid my kitchen table and are going to be showing it off tomorrow.

ABC SUMMER I is for-Indoor Campout with Indoor Smores

On our ABC summer list, today is the letter i and its indoor campout, and indoor smores. The kids made a tent with blankets and the dining room table. I made them some indoor smores, you can find the recipe here.

the kids have already asked if they can sleep in it tonight. They love making forts in the house.

abc summer F- feed the ducks

In our ABC Summer Activities, we had F- feed the ducks. My kids loved this one, we went to the duck pond and they had a blast feeding all of the ducks. We even got to see baby geese there. They had so much fun they wanted to go back again and feed them again. 

When we were leaving this little squirrel came up to my son. We didn't have anymore food to give or he would have eaten it.
