DIY Hat Rack

I started out with a scrap piece of wood, clothes pins and glue sticks for hot glue gun.

You can stain your board if you want, or like I did just sand it down and leave it rustic looking.

Hot glue your clothes pins to your board to the desired area. (I just eye balled the pins and didn't measure between them, you can measure between if you like)

Hang your board to the wall into a stud.
That's it your done!

I love how it displays all of his hats and keeps them organized at the same time. I'll be working on his desk next so stay tuned to see how it turns out.

Wooden Crates into Entertainment center

I have been working on a few little projects for my son's room and trying to get it organized at the same time. So of course like always, I get on Pinterest and start searching for some ideas. I came up with this idea for his tv.

I started out searching where I could get some wooden crates the cheapest and I found that Michaels Craft Store was having a sale on them right now in my area for $10 and regular they are $14.99. I couldn't use the 40% off coupon but that was okay cause $10.00 works for me. I picked up 4 of them. It worked perfect for the space I was using.

When I got home I was so excited to get started on these babies. I used the dark walnut stain that I already had and got busy. After they were all stained I let them sit over night to dry. You can use a clear coat on them but I never do I'm too impatient and couldn't wait another minute even a few more hours. HA!

My sweet hubby and I took a trip to Walmart and got some toggle bolts for hold up the crates

In no time the wooden crates were hung and we got his TV hung up as well.

Before

After
I'm so happy how it all turned out and my son is loving it too.
One down a few more to go. Next I'll be showing you how I made his hat rack in the right corner. It was so simple and easy. Til next time have a wonderful weekend.

Farmhouse Curtains

I've been having too much fun organizing my kitchen cabinets and also took a break from our Master Bedroom Makeover that we had started on. We are trying to do everything on a budget so when your on a budget it takes a little longer than what you want. I wanted to share with you a cheap way to make a curtain rod and curtains too.
Back in December I was searching around on pinterest for curtains for our Farmhouse Bedroom Makeover, I came across this great tutorial on how to make a curtain rod really cheap. I only needed it for one window, so I have enough material leftover to make another rod for my daughters room. They are so easy I'm going to make more for the rest of our windows in our home.
Now for the curtains, for Christmas I was wanting this book from Liz Fourez, A Touch of Farmhouse Charm

In here book she shows you how to make these cute no sew drop cloth curtains

When I saw these in the book I knew that's how I wanted my bedroom curtains to be.
I got me two drop cloth at Harbor Freight  they were the cheapest in town and they always have
20% off coupons so it makes it an even sweeter deal. Next we headed to Lowes to get the hardware and pipe for the rod and came home and started on them. I also went to Walmart and bought the curtain clip rings really cheap. I needed two package for my curtains
Make sure you wash your drop cloths first before hanging them so they will be fresh smelling and softer to work with.

Here's our curtain rod and curtains

I really loved how the curtain rod and curtains all turned out, they are more sturdy then the ones you buy at the store and way cheaper. I'm so thankful to have found the tutorial to make the rods. Our Master Bedroom is coming together slowing but we just need a few more touches to the room and well be done with it. Just had a few set backs but its coming together nicely. Can't wait to reveal the whole room when we are finished. Have a wonderful weekend!

DIY Painted Mason Jars

I love everything Farmhouse and I ran across painted mason jars on pinterest the other day and that it would add a perfect farmhouse decor item for my kitchen. I got busy gathering the items I needed for the project. I had the jars just needed some paint and brushes. I took a trip to Walmart and got the paint and brushes. This is what you will need:

this is the color I choose to use

I put one coat on them and let sit overnight before putting on another one

I got the second coat on them and they don't have to be perfect cause I will be distressing them

I started distressing them and sanded them down til I got desired look I wanted

and here they are

I'm so loving the new look of my jars and a new way to add some farmhouse to my kitchen! I just took a piece of 2x4 scrap wood we had and stained it the same color as the stand we built for our stove. Its almost time for the weekend again. I'm finally starting to feel better after having so sickness around here and I'm really looking forward the weekend its supposed to be a nice one around 84', can't wait to enjoy some warm weather for a day. Have a great day!

WHERE DO YOU SHOP AND SAVE MONEY EACH MONTH?

Aldi

I have been shopping at Aldi's for years now. I was so glad when it came to our town. I've never heard of it before and when I finally went there for the first time I was so happy and excited about going back.

Things to know before you going shopping

take a quarter with you for the shopping carts
( I always leave a quarter in my car for Aldi trips)

Be prepared to bag your own groceries

Aldi's has reusable bags you can buy, they are really cheap or you can opt to bring your own bags.
Eco Friendly bag 1.99
paper bag .06
plastic bags .10
I have bought them before and saved them for the next times but I just opt to bring my own bags now.

if you forget your bags and don't mind boxes Aldi usually has a bin of boxes or empty ones on the shelf you can have for FREE!

They don't take Coupons which there prices are low enough that a coupon won't really matter.

Aldi Accepts Cash and these cards NO CHECKS!

They guarantee their products

They have a great guarantee policy, it’s called Double Guarantee.  If you aren’t 100% satisfied, they will refund your money and replace the product.

You can search the weekly ads every Wednesday for the specials going on in the stores
by going the Aldi weekly ad.

The Next Store I have discovered a few months ago, and I'm hooked

Well, let me tell you I love to shop, Ha! But for groceries every week ugh! Who likes that, not me. If your like me and grocery shopping is becoming more of a chore than fun, then let me tell you, when I first discovered a new way to shop from home. At home you say, yes I said that right at home. Walmart Pickup Grocery, yes that's right. If you are like me and have kids and work and don't have alot of time running around the store with the kiddos for groceries then the Walmart Pickup Grocery just for you.
I love the Walmart Pickup Grocery for 6 reasons:
  1. no more standing in long lines
  2. no more going in the stores
  3. helps my family stay on a budget
  4. save money cause no impulsive buying
  5. the workers load all your groceries for you
  6. they shop for me
I'm really glad Walmart has started this cause this really helps alot of people out, with our busy lives or things going on like a new baby, surgeries, etc. You know you can get the items you need or want just by ordering them online and going to the store and picking them up. Its not just grocery items either, you need laundry soap, TP, beauty, health, candles etc. ,you are able to order them too. I've been doing the Walmart Pickup Grocery since about October 2016, just a short time but believe me once you do it, like I said you will be hooked and you won't wanna step foot in a Walmart for groceries anymore. I found it easier for me to pickup my orders on Friday's when I get off work to get ready for the weekend, so if on Saturday I wanna go shopping for other things like clothes, etc or just go hangout with the family, well I don't have to worry about going to the grocery store cause all of my groceries are bought for the week or month how every I choose at that time.  Also, when I discovered the Walmart Pickup Grocery, I was able to get $10 off my first order $50 or more. Of course the first time trying it out, I was hooked. I wanted to go every week and then I started once a month grocery shopping and that was fun! I would like to give you the same opportunity of getting your $10 off your first online order as well.

Just visit this Walmart Grocery $10 Promo Code Link to get a $10 discount code toward your first purchase of $50 or more from Walmart Grocery.
Walmart Grocery is only available in select areas at this time, as not every Walmart store will offer this free grocery pick-up and/or delivery service.

How Walmart Grocery Works:

  1.  You simply place an online order for your groceries through the Walmart Grocery website.
  2.  A Walmart Grocery shopper will do the shopping for you and have your groceries ready for pick-up during your selected time-slot.
  3. You pick-up your order from a convenient location at your local Walmart store (delivery available in select markets).
  4.  Your shopper loads the groceries into your car and you’re on your way.

Walmart Grocery is a free service to use (delivery charges may apply where available), and you simply need to create a Walmart Grocery Account to get started.

I used to do coupons and save even more money but the problems I had with coupons was they never had what I needed and the stores were getting really picky on how your use your coupons. So I had to find an easier solution for both my problems, saving money and staying on a budget at the same time.  Aldi's and Walmart Pickup Grocery were my solutions. I can save money get what I need and if I opt not to go to the grocery store that week or month Walmart Pickup Grocery has my back. I hope this has helped your with your grocery solutions. Happy Shopping!

Over the Stove Stand

Oh I've been excited to share with you about a fun project my hubby and I worked on last weekend. I ran across this pin on Pinterest the other day on my lunch break and I thought to myself we could make this. We had some scrap wood laying around and got to work. We measured the space where the board was going to go. We used 2x4's to make this and screws to hold it together. The stain I used was dark walnut, but you can use any stain of your choice, I just used what I had one hand.

we made sure it was going to fit and made some adjustments if we need to

Perfect! Now it was ready to for me to do my magic and make it look pretty, I did sand the rough edges down and filled in any gaps before I stained it.

just waiting for it to dry and I would recommend 24hrs and also you can put a clear coat to protect it, but I'm not that patient when it comes to something exciting as this. I did wait til it dried but not 24hrs, I didn't put a heavy coat of stain so it dried pretty fast, I think about 2 or 3 hrs. Once it had dried I brought it in the kitchen, its done and we were so excited of how it turned out. Now I'm on the look for some cute jars for my oils and such.

I will be showing how I made my rustic jars there to the right next week, so stay tuned for the tutorial on them. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
